Japanese Ramen

One of my favorite types of food is Japanese Ramen. I have tried many different restaurants in Las Vegas, Henderson, and Summerlin and by far the best one in terms of price, portions, and taste is Michi Ramen in Henderson. If you are a fan of ramen I highly recommend it. The best thing about this spot is that it's not located in China Town so often times there is no wait to be seated. One of the best sides is the garlic edamame which is packed with flavor. Jinya Ramen has raised their prices and the quality of their ramen has dropped over the years in my opinion. Monta Ramen is a good spot, but the restaurant is tiny and the wait time can be long. Ramen Sora suffers from being too popular and busy as well. Finally I will recommend another ramen spot called Tomi Ramen, they have a Naruto style ramen that is really delicious and the location is not as busy as the ramen spots found in China Town.

  1. A friend of mine also loves Ramen. I tried Michi Ramen, Monta Ramen, Ramen Sora with him. I have not heard of Tomi Ramen but will check it out someday :-)

Have you tried Fukumimi ramen? He ranks it as his top. I rank Monta Ramen on Spring Mountain as my number one but that was years ago.

  2. I'm ashamed to say this, but I have not tried legit ramen in my life. I think it's due to mental scarring caused by living off Top Ramen for like 6 years straight when I was a kid lol Thanks for the recommendations, I'll have to give one a try!

  4. I actually worked at Ichiza for a while. We had a number of different ramen options, even though it wasn't one of our specialties.

My favorite was the mapo ramen. It used the same base as our mapo tofu dish, with doubanjiang as the spicy component.

I liked it so much that now, I actually use doubanjiang when I make chili, instead of just straight dried chilies. It's an interesting mix, between the Mexican flavor of the dried peppers, and Szechuan influence from the "yard long" beans.

  5. Another cool anime ramen place is Shokku Ramen. I think it's really good and their hokage chicken with the ramen is very yummy. They are open 24/7 too.

  6. Oooo I love garlicy edamame! Thanks for these recommendations because I've only tried a handful of ramen spots and none of them so far have been very memorable. So I'll definitely check out Michi Ramen.

  10. Over the last year I have really gotten into eating all types of Asian cuisine. Ramen has definitely been my favorite dish so far. So many combinations on what to put in it or, what broth to get.

  11. Michi Ramen is one of the best places around. Super good. Jinya Ramen did decrease over the years and it's sad because they were really good.
